One bright morning, a super-speedy hare was hopping through the forest like he was late for a carrot sale.
Hare (zooming past): “Wheee! I’m faster than the wind! Outta the way, slowpokes!”
Just then, he spotted someone slowly walking with a leafy backpack — it was the tortoise.
Hare (laughing loudly): “HAHAHA! Are you even moving, or is that a statue?!”
Tortoise (calmly): “I’m moving, just at my own pace. Slow and steady wins the race.”
Hare (mocking): “Race? With those legs? I’d be at the finish line before you blink!”
Tortoise (raising an eyebrow): “Oh yeah? Want to prove it? Let’s have a real race.”
Hare (smirking): “You? Challenge me? This’ll be funnier than squirrel stand-up night!”
A wise fox nearby heard all the noise and stepped in.
Fox (clearing throat): “Alright, alright. I’ll be the judge! The race will go from here to the big mango tree — five miles.”
Tortoise: “Let’s do this.”
Hare: “Prepare to eat my dust, shell boy!”
The race began — ZOOM!
The hare was gone like a rocket. The tortoise? Still calmly plodding forward.
Hare (after a mile): “Hehehe… that tortoise must be still at the starting line. I’ll take a little nap. Let him feel hope!”
He laid under a shady tree, closed his eyes, and started snoring.
Meanwhile, the tortoise just kept walking.
Tortoise (whistling): “Left foot, right foot. Just keep moving.”
He passed the sleeping hare without making a sound.
Tortoise (smiling quietly): “Enjoy your nap, speedy.”
Hours later...
Hare (waking up): “What a great nap! Time to finish the race—wait… WHERE’S THE TORTOISE?!”
He jumped up, looked around—and saw the tortoise about to cross the finish line!
Hare (panicking): “NOOOO! My snack break turned into a disaster!”
He sprinted like never before, but it was too late. The tortoise had reached the mango tree and was waving a leaf like a trophy.
Tortoise (grinning): “Slow and steady... wins the race!”
π§ Moral of the Story:
Never underestimate others. Even if they seem slower or weaker, determination and focus can beat arrogance and speed. π
